Russian Lady Glossary

This glossary is no offense to someone's intellectual aptitude. We believe the majority who use dating websites are familiar with most of the terms below. Some of them are more specific than others and, since we use them frequently throughout My-Russian-Lady website, we will provide a link to their brief explanations here.

SIM card

SIM card (sometimes called a smart chip in the US) is that little yellow chip that goes inside a GSM phone and identifies your cell phone number. When you introduce your SIM card in another compatible phone, the new phone acquires your cell phone number and some settings. For instance, you can transfer your phone book from your old phone to the new one. However, to do that you will need to keep your phone book stored on the SIM card, as opposed to the internal phone memory. You can change the settings of where the contact numbers in your phone book are stored (in the internal phone memory or on the SIM card).

Spam

Spam is unsolicited email sent to multiple recipients without their consent, even on dating websites. Spamming is widely reviled, and has been the subject of legislation in a number of jurisdictions. Every email provider or Internet service provider employs some sort of spam filters to block a lot of spam from entering your inbox. Normally, those filters use a scoring system to decide whether or not a particular message is spam. Messages containing certain words, URLs, being addressed to multiple recipients, being sent from certain addresses and a variety of other factors contribute to a spam score. Messages with a high spam score get blocked and are not delivered into your inbox. Each email provider decides what spam filter to use and how strict it should be. There is no perfect spam filter. More lenient filters will allow more spam into your inbox. More strict ones will accidentally block legitimate emails from friends, companies you deal with, etc. Most email providers give users an interface to manage their spam filters on some level. Read also about Russian brides scams for which spam is used as a tool.

CIS

Commonwealth of Independent States. A confederation of 11 former Soviet republics: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. CIS was created after the dissolution of USSR. The majority of Russian brides on My-Russian-Lady.com come from this region, esp. Ukraine and Russia.

Cut and paste

Select (or highlight) the text (or a number, an address) in the source document or file. Then, copy it by pressing "Ctrl" key and without releasing it, press "C" key simultaneously. To paste it, click in the destination document or file on the spot, where you want this text, number, or address. Then, press "Ctrl" key and without releasing it, press "V" key. Your information will be, thus, copied and pasted.

USCIS

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (until recently Immigration and Naturalization Service, or INS). I don't know how much of my taxpayer's money went into this name change, and what was the intended purpose of it, but nothing in this organization has changed to the better. The same ridiculous hold times on the phone, the same overworked understaffed personnel, the same obscure and often contradicting instructions remained. Sorry, to state purely an opinion, but it is shared by many others that had to deal with USCIS. You will have to deal with it as well, if you plan to get that pretty Russian lady over here.

7 steps to start a relationship with a Russian Lady

Click here Now or Join button on the main page, fill in the form, add your picture and you're done.

Note: More details & photos – higher probability to get replies, 'cause every day Russian brides log into their account to write and reply to favorite men.
Browse Russian brides profiles and choose the lady you want to know better. Write your favorite Russian lady a message – this is still for Free.
You get her reply and can't wait to open it. Only now you need to purchase credits ($1-$2 per credit, depending on how many you buy). The number of credits needed to open a letter varies (see the Price Structure). You can pay via a credit card, a check, a wire transfer, and more.

You keep communicating & become good friends - No comments & no extra charge.
Order an interpreted phone call, for 1.8 credits per minute (1 credit, if you don't require translation) and chat all you want with yourRussian lady. More on FAQ page.

Note: Please, keep in mind that exchanging personal contact info during phone calls is not allowed.
You've been writing back and forth and talked on the phone - you like that lady... You want to get her direct contact details. First and foremost, you need to fill out the IMBRA form (US citizens only). Then, you've got two options. One (recommended) is to open 15 messages from the lady and you have the right to request her contact info (or, if this cannot be provided, which is very unlikely, you get your money back). Two is to pay a $50 fee, upon which we will contact your Russian lady and ask her permission to send you her contact details.

Note: this money will not be refunded, if permission is not given, so make sure you have her consent. !!! REMEMBER! Even if you have 15 opened messages from a lady, you are not allowed to exchange personal contact info with her through our messaging system. Please, contact us. More on FAQ page.
Once you got pretty serious with your Russian lady it's time to meet her personally. How do you do this? We can help arrange your first meeting, if you both agree to that. Most Russian women won't be able to obtain a US visa, so you will have to travel to her country, or meet on a "neutral territory", like Dominican Republic, France, Turkey, Cyprus, etc. Read more on Visas and Immigration in our FAQ.

If you decide not to use our service to arrange your meeting with the lady, there is a way to bypass it by getting her direct contact information. Read about it here.
After you've met in person and both want to take it farther, the next step is to apply for her "fiancée" visa. This type of visa will allow her to come to your country and stay for a while (for US it's 90 days). If you get married while yourRussian lady is in the US, she can stay with you for good. If not, she will have to return to her country. Read 'What is the process and how much it costs to bring your Russian lady here' on FAQ page.

Congratulations! You Got to the Finish & Won the Prize. Live Happily Ever After!
